Rose of Sharon Graphite Drawing of Jesus by blacknimproud Rose of Sharon Graphite Drawing of Jesus by blacknimproud
I'm definitely very proud of this art piece! I love trying new things all the time, and here I drew my first rose. Hope you all like what you see!

Tools:

Bristol Smooth 300 Paper
Staedtler Mars pencils 4H-6B
Nicole pro pencils 4B and 8B

Reference photo for Jesus from the movie still "Passion of the Christ" Ending Scene, Jesus is still in the Grave and the Stone is being rolled away...so not much lighting in this...I always try try to draw like how I see the picture :)

I love how much depth there is in this piece. The shading is amazing and the emotion is absolutely perfect. Everything about His face is perfect! :)

Oh Wow. The sutlety of the darks and whites is very good in this drawing. Almost makes me think its charcoal but its done in graphite. I love it.

This is beautiful! The shading on the face is wonderfully executed (especially the nose, and the eyes). You did a really great job on the beard, I always get discouraged drawing those :P

thanks! I think to get the beard thick you just have to keep layering and draw strokes short and long in the direction the hair flows :) Its mostly trial and error I believe

Great detailing. I love it how Jesus is looking up at heaven. Maybe more light should make this drawing look more stunning. The rose, however, should have softer petals. Try blending a bit more. All in all, nice work! God bless. :)

It's very nice technically, maybe a little bit more light would have been better but that may be a problem of scanning rather than rendering.

Lovely work with the shading here, it's got so much contrast! And it's a lovely depiction, too. Love his eye. He does remind me of Aragorn, though. *lol*
